Water Wise in Scottsdale

Local educational events for Spring 2016

The Scottsdale Water department puts on a number of events every year dedicated to saving water and creating beautiful desert landscapes.

2017 Scottsdale Water Workshops

This year’s events will be held at the Civic Center Library, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Get more information on the city website for water workshops. This year the workshops are still free.

Scottsdale Water also has some great rebates every year for everyone who wants to make smart changes to their property. This year’s rebates include Low Flow Showerheads, Low Flow Toilets, Waterless Urinals, Smart Irrigation Controllers, Pool Removal, Spa Removal, Grass (turf) Removal, and Water Softener Removal.

If you have any of the above items on your To Do list, put in your application NOW because the funds for these projects are on a first come first served basis. When they are gone, they’re gone. You can get big and small rebates off this list for projects you were going to do anyway (and they’ll save you money on your water bill in the long run).

Saving water in the desert is just a natural thing we need to be doing. On special plantings, you can splurge a little. If you want to see something special then check out these historic Scottsdale trees that just received Heritage distinction.

2016 City of Scottsdale Water Wise Workshops

There is usually no fee to participate and events will be held at the Granite Reef Senior Center (1700 N Granite Reed Rd) and Chaparral Park (SE corner of McDonald and Hayden).

Create a whole new water wise design for your home site using techniques specifically designed for the Arizona desert. More information on the City of Scottsdale website.
